The display on the remote controller cannot be turned off.
The batteries are running low, replace them (2) with new alkaline ones. Estimated timing for replacement is about 1 year.
Operation can be started by pressing the "ON/OFF" button on the main unit. In this case, operation mode and air quantity are set to "automatic."
Disconnect the power plug from the outlet or turn the breaker off and call the dealer where the unit was purchased immediately.
This is not a malfunction of the air conditioner. Indoor air is chilled in the cooling operation and mist forms. When performing the dehumidifying operation after the cooling operation, moisture on the heat exchanger evaporates.
This is not a malfunction of the air conditioner. During the heating operation, frost on the outdoor unit melts and discharges water or steam. During the cooling operation, cooled pipes in the outdoor unit rapidly cool the ambient air.
Disconnect he power plug from the outlet or turn the breaker off and call the dealer where the unit was purchased immediately.
This is not a malfunction of the air conditioner. A room odor from furniture, a cigarette, etc., was transmitted to the indoor unit during air intake and is being blown during operation (Cleaning the indoor unit is recommended. For instructions on cleaning, please consult the dealer where the unit was purchased or the local Daikin representative).
Disconnect the power plug from the outlet or turn the breaker off and call the dealer where the unit was purchased immediately.
This is not a malfunction of the air conditioner. Operation sound changes because the humidification fan repeatedly starts and stops the operation. Noise will come out of indoor units even after the operation stops because the humidification fan continues to rotate for 3 minutes to protect the air conditioner.
This is not a malfunction of the air conditioner. The sound occurs when air is discharged after humidification or ventilation. The operation sound may change depending on outdoor temperature or humidity.
This is not a malfunction of the air conditioner. Here is what will cause each sound:
  • Clicking sound →Occurs when the valve is controlling refrigerant or when electrical parts are engaged.
  • Water flowing sound → Occurs when the refrigerant is flowing in the air conditioner.
  • Whooshing sound → Occurs when refrigerant flow is changing in the air conditioner.
  • Ping sound → Occurs when the air conditioner is slightly expanding or shrinking due to temperature change.
  • Bubbling sound →Occurs because the outdoor air flows into the room through the drain hose when a ventilation fan runs in a closed room or a strong wind blows outside. This sound is likely to be produced in draft-free houses or apartments due to the different pressures between inside and out. To prevent this you can open a window, stop the ventilation fan or an "air cut drain plug" (sold separately) can be installed to the drain hose preventing the inflow of outdoor air (To install the air cut drain plug, please call the dealer where the unit was purchased).
Do not use a store-bought cleaning spray. It can negatively affect the heat exchanger or the resins in the inside of the unit, which may cause water leakage or damage in the worst case. For instructions on heat exchanger cleaning, please call the dealer where the unit was purchased or the local Daikin representative.
We recommend cleaning the air filters every 2 weeks. Wash the filters with water or clean them with a vacuum cleaner. (See the manual for details). For severe dirt, wash the filters with a neutral detergent diluted with tepid water and dry them up in a shady place.
Please check the following before calling for servicing:
  • Is the breaker thrown or the fuse blown?
  • Is the power plug connected to the outlet?
  • Has there been a power failure?
  • Do the batteries in the remote controller need replacement?
  • Is the timer set correctly?
This is not a malfunction, it is a function used to protect the air conditioner. Please wait for about 3 minutes.
This is not a malfunction, the air conditioner is warming up. Please wait for about 3 minutes
This is not a malfunction of the air conditioner. When the voltage fluctuates largely, operation can stop to protect the air conditioner. Operation will be restarted automatically in about 3 minutes.
Please check the following before calling for servicing:
  • Are the air filters clean? If not, clean the air filters and restart operation using the remote controller.
  • Are there any objects blocking the air inlet or outlet of the indoor/outdoor unit? Remove any objects and restart operation using the remote controller.
  • If the operation lamp still flashes, disconnect the power plug from the outlet or turn the breaker off and call the dealer where the unit was purchased.
This is not a malfunction of the air conditioner. The system is in defrost operation on the outdoor unit. Please wait for about 3 to 10 minutes.
Disconnect the power plug from the outlet or turn the breaker off and call the dealer where the unit was purchased immediately.
Thunderstorms and radio signals can cause a malfunction. If a malfunction occurs, disconnect the power plug from the outlet or turn the breaker off and then restart operation using the remote controller. If the problem persists call your closest Daikin dealer for service.
This is not a malfunction of the air conditioner. When the ON timer is set, operation starts up to 1 hour before the time set to reach the setpoint. If the remote controller is operated during this time, the operation automatically stops. Restart operation using the remote controller.
This is because the air conditioner starts operation beforehand to reach the set point by the set time.
This is not a malfunction of the air conditioner. Self-cleaning is being performed (If this function is not desired, turn off the self-cleaning function using the remote controller).
This is not a malfunction of the air conditioner. Right after the operation is stopped, the outdoor unit fan continues to rotate for about 1 minute to protect the air conditioner from high temperatures.
Please check the following before calling for servicing:
  • Are the air filters clean?
  • Are there any objects blocking the air inlet or outlet of the indoor/outdoor unit?
  • Is the temperature properly set by the remote controller?
  • Are all windows and doors closed?
  • Are air quantity and direction settings properly controlled?
  • Has the ventilation fan stopped?

Cleaning not only the filter but also cleaning the cooling fan (heat exchanger) in the back is effective for keeping electricity consumption low. Before cooling season begins, confirm that cooling fan is clean. If the dirt on the fan is noticeable, contact your local distributor.
When the filter inside the air conditioner is obstructed, intake air amount decreases, while the amount of electricity necessary to cool the room increases. Follow these steps to clean your filter:
  • Cleaning the filter once every two weeks is recommended.
  • Clean filter of dust by washing with water or using a vacuum cleaner.
  • When extremely soiled, wash with lukewarm water with detergent and dry in a shady place away from sunlight.
  • For models with an automatic cleaning function, use this function to clean the filter

Space heating is our top energy user.

Canada's cold climate means that almost two thirds of the energy we use in our homes goes to space heating. No wonder we look to heating when we think of energy savings. Canadians have many space heating options — furnaces, boilers, heat pumps and baseboard heaters — generated from a variety of energy sources (oil, gas, propane, electricity or the sun). Some of us even use two or more types of heating and/or energy. Find out more

As an innovation leader, Daikin is laying the foundation for next generation technology with three cutting-edge core technologies uniquely cultivated.

  • High Efficiency Compressor to Achieve a High COP

Daikin DC inverter models are equipped with a reluctance DC motor for the compressor. The reluctance DC motor uses 2 different types of torque, neodymium magnet*1 and reluctance torque*2. This motor saves energy because it can generate more power using less electric power than an AC or conventional DC motor.

Note: Data are based on studies conducted under controlled conditions at a Daikin laboratory.

  • *1.A neodymium magnet is approximately 10 times stronger than a standard ferrite magnet.
  • *2.The torque created by the change in power between the iron and magnet parts.

Swing Compressor Model

Friction and refrigerant leakage are minimized for greater energy savings.

Scroll Compressor Model

Sucked gas is compressed in the scroll section before reaching the heated motor so that non-expanded gas is compressed, resulting in high efficiency compression.
  • *Features and specifications differ according to model.

Most manufacturers use a standard rotary inverter compressor but Daikin improved the technology with its exclusive swing inverter compressor. This change makes a huge difference in how quiet and efficient the system operates. Most inverter compressors use a spring and a seal to create the compression cycle. Daikin has welded components together to eliminate the spring and the seal. This is a small change, with a big impact. We have attached a video to show the difference between the two compressors to help give you a better understanding.

Daikin ductless heating and cooling systems feature streamlined, wall-mounted indoor units paired with quiet and compact outdoor units.
Ductless (Individual Air Conditioning)

Ductless allows environments with multiple interior spaces such as office and tenant buildings to independently adjust temperature by room.
Ducted (Central Air Conditioning)

Ducted provides uniform air conditioning for large open environments such as libraries, public facilities and large retail stores.
Ductless (Individual Air Conditioning)

Independent control allows temperature adjustment of environments with infants and elderly people along with situations needing adjustment during the day.
Ducted (Central Air Conditioning)

Central control provides the convenience of a uniform environment and is suited for environments that remain largely constant during the day.
Daikin Group has a comprehensive lineup of both ductless and ducted systems ranging from homes to large-size facilities including offices, stores and buildings. Utilizing the features and strengths of each type, Daikin offers a wide range of solutions to match every environment.

Ductless (Individual Air Conditioning)

Indoor units are placed in each room for individual heating and cooling.

Each indoor unit operates independently to enable individual temperature settings.

Ducted (Central Air Conditioning)

Air is sent through ducts from one central location to heat and cool all rooms.

All rooms are air conditioned uniformly at the same temperature settings.
